The Silent Vitality Assassin

Without being aware of it, we all always have the murder weapon within reach. It is often in a pocket or in a handbag. Some have it hanging around their neck, with a pendant in a nice color. And others hold it continuously. This last group most often feels anxious, lonely or insecure.


Secretly, we actually have it all figured out. Research shows that about three-quarters of Dutch people think they spend too much time on their smartphones. Some of us sometimes try to reduce this unwanted use of time, but only a fraction succeed.


That is not surprising, because many of the apps that we frequently use are designed to make us addicted.


Curiously enough, we spend barely 15% of our time on apps that we think will make us happier. And yet we walk around with it all the time.


This week is national vitality week.


Let's be aware that we can give our vitality an immediate boost if we only use those apps that make us happier.
